Second post this day. I’m ready to keep rolling with generating game content.
Reflecting on the session I ran yesterday evening, I wonder if this is already working to help me through my GM writer’s block. It’s a careful optimization to put the right amount of effort into prep to make for a good session, with a risk that too much prep might even make for a worse game.
Anyways, here’s what I came up with.
My Day 8 Content
Today’s prompt is PALANQUIN. There are a lot of obvious quests around palanquins. Stop. Protect. Swap. Destroy.
The exact quest is actually relatively flexible. And I think it’s fun if the party has to figure out how to handle the logistics. What I want to do is to setup the environment with a few notable features for the players to interact with.
- The route crosses over a bridge with a troll lurking underneath that must be bribed
- Children frequently play and try to peek into the palanquin and must be shooed away by the guards.
- One of the laborers carrying the palanquin has big gambling debts.
- The palanquin has blades built into the sides that can be triggered from the inside
- There is always another guard following the palanquin from the street for a rescue
So what’s Day 9?
Well, Day[9] is a very success gaming personality. However, the prompt for day 9 of the Advent of Dungeons is MAGIC ARROW
Advent of Dungeons 2024 So Far
