About

Hi! I’m Kevin. I live in California with a wonderful family. By day, I’m a software engineer. By nights, I play TTRPGs and write the Delve with Hope blog.

I got my first taste of RPGs when I played Baldur’s Gate 1. My first TTRPG was the WEG Star Wars d6 RPG in the mid-2000s, and I only picked it because I found the rulebook at a used bookstore and didn’t have polyhedral dice.

Since then, I have primarily run games by baiting friends by telling them it’s “just a one-shot.”

I discovered Daggerheart during the summer of 2024 while the game was still in beta, and I haven’t looked back. I have plenty of thoughts about TTRPGs and hope to contribute something good to the community by sharing those on this blog.

If you’re not sure where to start, here are a few of the posts I’m most proud of:

  1. The Math of Daggerheart’s 2d12 Duality Dice Roll
  2. How to Invite Players to Build the World Together
  3. Maps and Minis or Theater of the Mind for Daggerheart?
  4. Show NPCs doing something else

In addition to writing for this blog, I also pay a lot of attention to the wide world of Daggerheart. Check out the news, actual plays, and other content I have linked as well.
